Types of Membership
  1. ACTIVE: Any School principal, assiciate, or assistant principal approved by the local board and who is actively engaged in administrative and supervisory work in the public schools of North Carolina.

  2. RETIRED: Any person who has retired from full-time employment as a school principal or assistant principal and who is receiving benefits from North Carolina Teachers and State Employees Retirement System.

  3. ASSOCIATE: Any former principal or assistant principal who has had two years active membership and elects inactivate status in NCPAPA but retains primary professional employment in a recognized education agency.

  4. HONORARY: Any other person who desires to promote the interest of NCPAPA and to share in its work.

  5. CORPORATE: Any business, professional organization, or government agency wishing to support NCPAPA.

  6. ASPIRING: Any person studying school administration with the intention of becoming a principal or assistant principal or holding a certificate but not employed as a principal or assistant principal.

  7. UNIT: Superintendents wishing to join as a LEA contact Lloyd Thrower (Unit membership includes: all principals, HPS, superintendents, assistant superintendents, and administrative interns).

  8. INSTITUTIONAL: Schools wishing to join as a group contact Lloyd Thrower for reduced rates.
